
Douglas Duffee MD, Mdiv, FACP is a board certified Internist devoted to the private practice of General Internal Medicine since 1996.
Dr. Duffee completed a Bachelor of Arts in biology at the:
-University of Minnesota, Minneapolis 1985.
-A Master of Divinity (Mdiv) was recieved at the Golden Gate Theological Seminary, San Francisco CA in 1989.
-His Medical Doctorate (MD) was granted at the East Tennessee State, Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN in 1993.
-In 1996, he completed his Internal Medicine training at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
Dr. Duffee began his private practice of Internal Medicine in Largo, Florida at the Diagnostic Clinic. He was there from 1996-2005. In 2005 he moved to Pueblo, Colorado to begin Sangre de Cristo Internal Medicine Associates (SDCIM) which is a single specialty Internal Medicine practice.
Additionally, he was elected as a fellow in the American College of Physicians (FACP) in 2005 for his service to the local medical community and commitment to continuing medical education.
Dr. Duffee acknowledges that personal wellness is achieved through the support of ones own personal lifestyle decisions by encouraging diet, physical fitness, an evidence based application of medical principles in sickness and health and in cultivating ones spiritual life.
Dr. Duffee also feels that developing a doctor-patient relationship based on mutual trust and respect is crucial in accomplishing wellness goals. He maintains an openness and sensitivity to discussing any physical or spiritual concerns.
People often ask about the seminary training. The doctor pursued this to become better informed in his own faith and to gain equipping for service as an active layperson in his church. To that end, he has lead overseas medical mission teams and enjoys fellowship and bible study at his church. The doctor has an active family life with a wife and 3 children. He enjoys running, reading and playing guitar.
