Sangre de Cristo Internal Medicine (sdcim) is a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing collaborative adult healthcare with compassion skill and integrity.  Since 1996, Dr. Doug Duffee has centered his private practice of general Internal Medicine on the idea that personal wellness is optimized through the collaboration of patient, primary care team and healthcare system.


Sangre de Cristo Internal Medicine Associates PLLC is a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing primary adult health care with traditional values while coordinating care across the medical neighborhood by utilizing an innovative e-platform.  Lead by Dr. Doug Duffee, SDCIM is a solo shared call traditional general Internal Medicine practice. Supported by two MA's, a masters level care manager with a Christian behavioral health emphasis and 2 administrators, SDCIM has served the community of Pueblo, Colorado since 2005. Based on the Parkview Medical Center campus, the practice offers the following services:

     1.  Outpatient, office based

As a CPCI and CPC+ award winning practice, SDCIM offers comprehensive outpatient adult primary care clinical services with an emphasis on collaboration at the level of patient, family, primary care team, health care system and insurance plan Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm with 24/7/365 physician call coverage support. Additionally, video visits, secure email and patient portal access are available with our portal interface being the preferred mode for routine/non-urgent communication. Services include: Diagnostic and wellness exams, cancer screenings (Prostate, Breast, Colon, Cervix) , Ekg, skin biopsy, cryotherapy and cortisone injection therapy.  On premises lab, xray, stress testing, heart monitoring and spirometry are available.  There is an adjacent parking garage with facilitated access.  Also please note that Dr.  Duffee works in collaboration with the Parkview Internal Medicine residency program and has Internal Medicine residents or medical students working with him at most times.

     2.  Inpatient, hospital based

Hospital admission, discharge, consultative and care coordination services are provided by Dr. Duffee through Parkview hospital.  Please note Dr. Duffee works in collaboration with the Parkview Internal Medicine residency program and has Internal Medicine residents** working with him and providing in house coverage under his supervision.  He also utilizes the Parkview hospitalist team to assist with coverage. All admissions to St Mary Corwin hospital are managed by SMC hospitalists.

**An Internal Medicine resident is a doctor (MD or DO) who has completed medical school and is in the "practical" portion of their training as part of a 3 year on campus program. 

*CPCI is the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative, a competitive four year CMS pilot program designed as a quality and innovation initiative for primary care in the state of Colorado, initially awarded to SDCIM in 2012. CPC+is the competitive, extended and continuing 5 year phase of this same initiative.
